Essaouira day trip from Agadir & Taghazout

Le 04/01/2025

Sqalaessaouira

Early in the morning, we will travel to Essaouira (formerly known as Mogador) through the village of Taghazout, along the coastal road. We’ll pass by Berber villages and vast olive and argan groves. We’ll make a stop at an argan orchard to see goats perched on argan trees, and then visit a women’s cooperative to learn how they produce argan-based food and cosmetics.

Afterward, we will continue our journey to Essaouira. Once we arrive, our day trip will begin with a visit to the harbor and the famous blue boats. We will also explore the Sqala Kasbah, also known as the Sqala of the city or the Sqala of Medina, which is an artillery platform dating back to the 18th century and one of the main fortifications of Essaouira, located along the Atlantic Ocean.

Next, we will visit Moulay Al Hassan Square, the most vibrant square in Essaouira, where you’ll find numerous cafés, restaurants, shops, and banks. The square is situated between the port and the entrance to the old Medina, with its narrow alleys, souks, and bazaars. Our tour will continue with a visit to Bayt Dakira, the House of Memory, a Jewish museum located in the Jewish quarter, “Mellah.”

After enjoying a delicious fish lunch, we will return to Agadir.
